Endometriosis
Endometriosis occurs when tissue from the uterine lining (endometrium) sloughs off and grows in or on other organs in the pelvic cavity. This tissue bleeds every month when the woman has her period and causes a great deal of pain. Heavy, painful periods are experienced and lower back pain.
Surgery and hormone treatment is the way it is normally treated.
It is thought that Endometriosis might be caused by selenium deficiency, use of tampons, excess oestrogen production, early puberty, delayed pregnancy, and stress.
Tip: nutritional supplementation is a way of ensuring correct hormonal balance which may prevent Endometriosis from occuring: B6 for progesterone production, linseed and Agnus Castus for hormonal balance.
